The Poised Society is a youth program that supports girls in building confidence, presence, and purpose. Based in Prince George’s County and extending into D.C. and Charles County, Maryland, we welcome participants from all areas. Our program combines mentorship, life skills, and a mix of timeless social grace with modern lessons.
Our vision is a community where young women flourish in confidence and purpose.
Our mission is to help young women know themselves, grow stronger, and be ready for what’s ahead. With mentors, workshops, and community, they gain the tools and support to flourish in school, career, and life.
Use the Contact Us page on the website for inquiries about programs, enrollment, scholarships, or volunteering.
Our core program is for girls who are born female, ages 14–18. We also offer a Juniors summer program for girls ages 10–13.
Currently, The Poised Society does not have a safety plan designed for transgender youth. We are mindful of the need for safety and consistency, and as we expand, we hope to thoughtfully explore ways to serve a broader community. We welcome feedback from families who wish to share their perspectives with us.
At The Poised Society, young women learn skills that prepare them for life right now and for what’s ahead. Along the way, they gain mentorship, sisterhood, and the kind of social skills and character that lasts for life.
The program is nine (9) months long, beginning in February and running through October. It concludes with one final November session where participants present their capstone project.
Tuition covers all sessions, materials, mentorship, guest events, activities, and outings. No hidden fees. Payments can be billed monthly. No late fees apply as long as communication is maintained.
